Job Description - CUSTOMER SERVICE CLERK (Flex) (250001YI)
Job Summary: Performs a variety of duties related to NEX internal and external customer service operations. Works as part of a sales team to provide service that anticipates and exceeds customer expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets and provides specialized services to customers.
- Performs transactions efficiently and professionally.
- Provides layaway services, explains policies and requirements.
- Handles refunds, merchandise exchanges, and price adjustments according to NEX policy.
- Processes special orders, computes costs, and manages deposits.
- Tracks and updates order and delivery statuses, including rain checks.
- Assists customers with NEXCARD accounts, including applications, balances, and payments.
- Familiar with store policies and systems, resolves customer problems tactfully, and refers complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Interacts professionally with customers and coworkers, adheres to dress codes, and supports sales team efforts.
- Communicates effectively, follows up on commitments, and ensures customer satisfaction.
- Reviews stock, participates in meetings, and suggests improvements.
- Handles cash register transactions accurately.
- Researches competitors and informs customers of upcoming sales and services.
- Maintains awareness to deter theft and completes related paperwork accurately.
- Assists in training new associates.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of responsible experience in clerical, office, or retail sales work.
- Education may substitute for experience at a rate of half a year of college study for 6 months of experience.
