Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Thornton, CO is seeking a Customer Service Associate to assist customers, operate the checkstand, and maintain store cleanliness. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or relevant education/experience).
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Minimum age 18; 19 in Idaho/19 in Alaska for tobacco sales.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends regularly and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize/prioritize tasks and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, handle tender transactions, bag merchandise, manage money drops, and know produce codes.
• Complete file maintenance log for price discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area to housekeeping standards.
• Answer telephones.
• Comply with all corporate policies and promote company initiatives.
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated/removed at point of sale and respond to pedestal activations as needed.
• Maintain all store accounting functions and prepare bank deposits of excess funds (cash and checks).
• Open/close Customer Service Desk, process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, bill pay, gift cards, purchase orders, and equipment rentals.
• Provide lottery service (except Alaska) and fish & game licenses, send/receive faxes, administer lost and found, run vendor reports.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts in a nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity; follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults; perform essential functions with or without accommodations.
