Job summary

Smart & Final is hiring a Service Clerk in Sacramento to assist customers, maintain carts, and support store operations. The role includes helping customers load merchandise into vehicles, checking prices, and returning items to shelves. You will help keep the store clean and organized throughout the day.

Starting rate is $16.90 per hour, with benefits like 401(k) and continuing education options. Strong English skills and physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Read and write English; interact with customers and coworkers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product pricing codes, shelf tags, memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information one-on-one or in small groups.
• Follow detailed but uncomplicated instructions.
• Physically able to lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly, 45 lbs frequently, 60 lbs occasionally.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain carts and assist customers with purchases and loading to their cars.
• Check prices on products for check stand personnel.
• Return merchandise to shelves; collect go-backs and place them properly.
• Face merchandise and straighten aisles as needed.
• Monitor and maintain store entrance cleanliness; sweep and mop exterior walkways.
• Keep restrooms and store areas clean and stocked throughout the day.
