Job summary

Smart & Final in Oceanside is hiring a Service Clerk for the 426 Oceanside location. The role involves assisting customers, managing shopping carts, and helping with loading merchandise into vehicles.

The position requires English literacy, basic PC skills, and physical stamina to lift up to 60 pounds. Starting pay is $16.90 per hour, with opportunities to support customers and keep the store clean throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Read and write English; interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels and shelf tags.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information effectively to customers and colleagues.
• Follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and move up to 25 lb, up to 45 lb frequently, up to 60 lb occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize shopping carts inside the store and retrieve carts from parking areas.
• Assist customers with loading merchandise into carts and loading vehicles.
• Check retail prices on shelves for check stand personnel.
• Return misboxed items to shelves; face merchandise and maintain aisles.
• Monitor cleanliness of store entrance and exterior areas; mop and trash removal.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restock restrooms as needed.
