Job summary

Smart & Final in San Diego is hiring a Service Clerk at 833 San Diego. You will assist customers with purchases, keep carts organized, check shelf prices and help customers to their cars when needed.

Starting Rate $17.75 per hour. Candidates should read and write English, interact with the public and coworkers, and be able to lift up to 60 pounds. Basic PC/Outlook skills are a plus, and a Retail Management Certificate is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Read and write English; interact with the public and coworkers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information clearly in one-on-one or small group settings.
• Follow written or oral instructions with common sense.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize shopping carts in the store and parking lot.
• Assist customers with loading merchandise into carts and vehicles.
• Check shelf prices for store associates.
• Return merchandise to shelves and keep aisles tidy.
• Monitor store entrance cleanliness and trash, and restrooms as needed.
• Perform general store maintenance and restock as required.
