Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Delaware & Delaware County, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Associate to participate in all sales floor activities and maintain a professional demeanor to maximize customer satisfaction. You will also help ensure security and protection of company assets.

The role requires following safety policies, performing POS transactions, and supporting merchandising, cleaning, and stock duties as needed to support store operations. Flexible hours are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with customer service or retail a plus.
• Capable of handling cash and basic point-of-sale operations.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure safety, security and protection of customers and assets.
• Perform counterpoint POS transactions and handle cash drawer funds accurately.
• Ensure merchandise is displayed and stocked properly across departments; perform housekeeping duties.
• Assist in production areas including textiles, WEB and ASH, and accept donations as needed.

• Be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Customer Service Associate participates in all sales floor activities in addition to maintaining a professional manner to ensure maximum internal and external customer satisfaction. Responsible for ensuring the security and protection of company assets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

1. Follow safety policies andprocedures ensuring maximumsafety,security,and protection ofall customers andcompany assets.
2. Perform Counterpoint Point of Sale fannctions and transactions; ensue safe and accurate handling of all cash drawer funds, media, and Goodwill property; accountable for overages and shortages.
3. Ensure aall merchandiseisdisplayed/stockedinitsproperdepartmentandinaccordancewithmerchandisingprocedures. Performnecessary housekeeping duties, including,butare not limited to, cleaning and recovery of sales floor, dressing rooms and production/processing areas, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming as needed, maintaining order in alldepartments, including clothing, domestics, shoes/accessories, wares, books, and furniture.
4. Responsible to assistas needed in production areas including textiles, WEB and ASH.In addition, to assisting in accepting donations.
5. Follow company policy and procedures according to Goodwill Employee Handbook and SOPs applicable to job position.
6. Ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Work cooperatively with all consumers, community groups, co-workers, and subordinates to promote the achievement of the company mission.
7. Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
8. All other duties as assigned (i.e. cleaning, recovery).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Highschool diploma or GED equivalent preferred,along with a minimum of 1-3 monthsof related experienceand/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
