Job summary

Family Dollar in Coventry, Rhode Island is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers with questions, manage transactions at the register, and help keep the store clean and well-stocked.

The role requires reliable teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to lift merchandise up to 50 lbs. This is a part-time position offering benefits and opportunities for growth within a national retail chain.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned*.
