Job summary

Swedish Hospital is seeking a Customer Service Associate for the Fitness Center in Chicago, IL. This part-time role (20 hours/week) involves greeting members, processing memberships, and answering questions about classes and services. Shifts include Tue 1-8pm, Fri 4:45am-12:30pm, and alternating Sundays.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and prior customer service or desk experience, with a friendly, service-oriented approach and strong communication skills.

• Previous customer service or front desk experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests as they enter or exit the facility.
• Swipe/enter member data into CSI software and verify membership information.
• Provide information about classes, programs, services, and promotions; direct inquiries as needed.
• Conduct facility tours and answer general membership questions.
• Process register sales and collect membership payments.
• Update member contact and payment details in CSI software.
• Handle high volume calls promptly and route to appropriate staff.

Hourly Pay Range:

$17.00 - $25.50 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Customer Service Associate, Fitness Center
• Location: Chicago, IL
• Part time, 20 weekly hours
• Hours: Tues 1-8pm, Fri 445am-1230pm and every other Sun 615am-12pm
• Required Travel: None

What you will do:

• Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Galter Life Center and demonstrates a service orientation and adheres to all responsibilities and standards of the Life Center.
• Greet every member and/or guest that enters and exits the facility.
• Swipe/Enter each member or guest into the facility and verify that membership information is accurate.
• Provide general information about classes, programs, services, special promotions, and answer inquiries via telephone or in person. Direct inquires/questions to the appropriate person if not familiar or unable to assist.
• Be able to conduct a tour of the facility and answer general membership questions.
• Complete register sale transactions for products and services and take membership payments.
• Update basic member information including: address, email, phone and credit cards in CSI software.
• Answers high volume of incoming calls promptly, courteously, and transfers calls to appropriate personnel

What you will need:

• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience: Prior Customer Service/Desk Operations experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age
