Endeavor Health is seeking a Group Aquatic Instructor in Chicago, IL for part-time hours. The role requires CPR/AED certification within 90 days and obtaining WSI certification within 90 days. A swimming background and prior instruction experience are essential.

Hourly Pay Range:

$17.00 - $58.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Group Aquatic Instructor

• Location: Chicago, IL

• Part time, 5 weekly hours

• Hours: M-F 2pm-4pm, Sat 9am-12pm

• Required Travel: no

What you will do:

• Demonstrate professionalism in dealing with LifeCenter members, guests and staff

• Create a fun, healthy learning environment

• Design lesson plans which are tailored to the needs and goals of the group

• Motivate clients by giving encouragement and confirming pupils' accomplishments

• Give skills and drills to practice on their own

• Using interpersonal skills, create a comfortable atmosphere where experimentation and learning combine to make a unique and fun experience

• Work to continuously improve skills as an instructor

What you will need:

• Certification: CPR/AED Certified (must be certified within the first 90 days of employment if not currently certified.) MUST be able to obtain current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification within first 90 days of employment. It is the responsibility of the individual employee, not Galter Life Center, to complete and turn in all paperwork necessary to keep WSI certification current.

• Experience: A previous swimming background is essential and prior experience in swim instruction is preferred. Group Swim Instructors must be able to demonstrate technical proficiency in the front and back crawl and the breaststroke.

• Unique or Preferred Skills: It is important that Group Swim Instructors have strong interpersonal communication skills and are able to motivate and give direction.Group Swim Instructors should be friendly, helpful and have the ability to relate well with people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.
