Job summary

Steelscape, a BlueScope unit, seeks a Customer Service Assistant I onsite in Kalama, WA. You will support the Customer Service Department with order entry, reporting, and status updates, while coordinating with production and sales teams to ensure timely shipments.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in customer service, strong MS Office skills, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. SAP experience preferred, with a competitive hourly rate and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of customer service or front office experience.
• Proficient use of copier and scanner.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Team-oriented and highly motivated.
• Experience using SAP (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in customer service representative backup coverage by being proficient in Steelscape product offerings, capabilities, and operational procedures.
• Enter customer orders into order management software according to company policy and procedures, including the order confirmation process.
• Generate, update, and load customer reports on a regular basis.
• Follow up on orders, review held coils, track delayed shipments, and coordinate with internal departments.
• Prepare or update quotes using the web quote system and support sales teams.
• Participate in special projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
