Job summary

Energy Transport Logistics in Humble, TX is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Agent for our Houston area operations. You will handle inquiries, quotes, and support tasks, ensuring timely updates and coordination across departments to maintain service levels.

Responsibilities include data transfer from bills of lading, routine clerical support, freight tracking, and clear communication with customers about pickup/delivery times and any special freight requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong MS Office knowledge and familiarity with freight operating systems (AS400, Alpha Truck, Crowne, Freight Data).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in cartage, transportation, moving companies, customer service, logistics, line haul, intermodal, warehouse, and dispatching operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Typing 30+ WPM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, professional, and timely customer service whether handling customer inquiries, complaints, quotes, or support in order maintenance processes.
• Coordinate and collaborate between multiple departments, customers, and service providers.
• Transfer data from bill of lading to company freight operating management system.
• Provide clerical support to daily operations, including answering telephone/emails, photocopying, printing, faxing, filing, record maintenance, scanning and document breakdown.
• Collect, safekeep, and help upkeep all relevant customer data.
• Maintain open communication with customers to ensure all parties are clear in direction, whether confirming pickup/delivery time and date, ensuring forms are completed and attached, or if any moves require specialized freight.
• Assist customers in tracking and tracing their freight, when needed.
• Notify customers of Freight Availability, Capacity, and other Important Information.
• Maintain knowledge of company services.
• Work with Dispatch Team to ensure freight is delivered on time.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Assist Management in operational KPI reports as needed.

Qualifications: COMPETENCIES

• Strong understanding of MS Office Programs, Freight operating systems, such as AS400, Alpha Truck, Crowne, Freight Data, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Relevant experience can include cartage, transportation, moving companies, customer service, logistics, line haul, intermodal, warehouse, ground operations, and dispatching air and ocean service.
• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Type 30+ WPM preferred
