Job summary

Customer Service Advisor

We are now recruiting for a Customer Service Advisor to join our busy Customer Services Team and provide excellent support to residents and customers across a wide range of Council services.

You will be a focused and positive individual with excellent communication skills, the confidence to use your own initiative and the motivation to make a difference. You will put the customer at the heart of everything you do and be ready to work flexibly in an ever-changing, consistently busy environment. This is initially a 12-month appointment, with the potential to become permanent.

What does the job involve?

You will work at Castle House, Newark, or at one of our outreach centres, dealing with a wide range of customer enquiries. This includes face-to-face enquiries and answering calls in our contact centre, as well as webchat and social media. You will need a flexible approach, with the ability to prioritise your work and respond to a changing workload.

All about you
  • Excellent communication, keyboard and numeracy skills are required.
  • You will also have experience of working in an appropriate customer-oriented environment and using a variety of ICT systems to record, monitor and extract customer service information.
  • You will have the ability to meet targets, experience of working with online computer systems and GCSE Grade C, Levels 4-9 or equivalent, in English and Mathematics.
  • You must also be able to travel to outreach locations within the district.
  • You will have good attention to detail and a professional approach.
  • Crucially, you will have a positive attitude, embrace change and be helpful, friendly and confident in communicating with customers and colleagues.
