Job summary

Paylocity is seeking an entry-level Accounting Clerk (Customer Maintenance) to maintain accurate customer account information and support exemption processing within the Accounting department.

The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with customers, store personnel, and internal teams to ensure precise records and efficient processing of account data.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Review new customer accounts to verify proper setup and data accuracy.
• Research, identify, and resolve duplicate customer records to maintain database integrity.
• Maintain customer equipment records and updates as requested.
• Collaborate with store personnel and customers to verify information and determine appropriate account corrections.
• Merge duplicate customer and contact records and document completed merges.
• Review Agricultural Exemption documentation for completeness and accuracy and update customer accounts with exemption numbers, exemption status, and expiration dates.
