ABB in North Carolina seeks a Customer Quality Specialist to deploy quality culture and oversee the Quality Management System at the local unit. You will lead root cause analyses, drive corrective actions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to exceed customer expectations and ensure sustainable operations.

The role emphasizes prevention, continuous improvement, risk assessment, and strong communication with internal and external stakeholders to achieve world-class quality results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or related field or an Associate degree with relevant experience or High School Diploma with extensive experience in quality roles.
  • Lean six sigma green belt certification preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and knowledge of incoterms, customer experience and supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

  • Define, deploy and support a Quality Culture within local ABB, ensuring Quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations.
  • Support and maintain the Quality Management System of the local unit per ABB guidance.
  • Represent the Voice of the Customer; manage customer quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and lead corrective actions.

You will also showcase your expertise by collaborating with local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance.You will be mainly accountable for:Define, deploy and support a Quality Culture within local ABB, by assuring and controlling Quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations.Support and maintain the Quality Management System of the local unit, including all aspects managed in line with ABB Group/Division/BU guidance.Represents the Voice of the Customer within local teams; Manages the customer quality issues, perform root cause analysis and lead the implementation of the corrective actions to solve the customer quality issues.Challenges the teams with customer experience feedback and input to decisions; Enable and coach employees to evaluate risks, problems and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view.Qualifications for the role:Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or related field, preferredMinimum 2 years relevant work experience in Incoterms knowledge, customer experience success, project execution, and supply chain, OR Associate degree in Engineering or related field PLUS minimum 4 years relevant work experience OR High School Diploma/GED PLUS 6 years of relevant work experienceLean six sigma green belt certification, preferredAdvanced communication skills (written and verbal) within the organization and customersMicrosoft Office skillsBasic knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, 8D reports, PPAP, preferredCandidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.More about usABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
