Elite Connector is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to support customer quality requirements and quality initiatives within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
This position will serve as an important link between customers, suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, operations, and quality, ensuring customer requirements are understood, documented, and consistently met.
The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing quality, strong knowledge of quality systems and advanced problem-solving methodologies, and the ability to work directly with customers on technical quality issues.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a primary quality contact for customers regarding nonconforming products, corrective actions, and quality-related issues.
- Investigate customer concerns and lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities.
- Manage Material Review Board (MRB) activities and customer return dispositions.
- Prepare, submit, and follow up on First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
- Support APQP and PPAP activities and provide required documentation to customers.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements and ensure requirements are properly communicated internally.
- Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Inspection teams to resolve quality and production issues.
- Support development and improvement of process control plans, capability studies, and process audits.
- Monitor quality performance metrics and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support NPI and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate test and inspection results against engineering specifications and customer requirements.
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and inspection personnel regarding customer and quality requirements.
- Communicate complex technical issues and solutions to customers, management, and cross-functional teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
- 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of AS9100D and AS13100.
- Knowledge of GD&T and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Experience with PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, 8D, A3, and RCCA.
- Experience working with MRB processes and customer quality requirements.
- Knowledge of metrology and/or metallurgical inspection.
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Quality certifications such as CQE, CQA, CQM, or Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt are a plus.
