Job summary

ZF is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to join a cross-functional team focused on delivering high-quality products from design through production. You will drive process and design FMEAs, support design-to-manufacture changes, and resolve defects with root-cause analysis across internal and supplier quality processes.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing quality, solid knowledge of APQP/PPAP, and familiarity with SAP and PLM systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in quality within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with SAP, particularly warehouse or manufacturing modules, preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in core automotive quality standards and tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA) and root cause analysis methods.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 19011 quality standards and auditing.
• Familiarity with PLM, process documentation, and reading technical drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and use measurement/control equipment, with MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development of Process and Design FMEAs.
• Recommend design and manufacturing method changes to new products.
• Provide technical support and analyses to resolve product problems in manufacturing.
• Collaborate with warranty and quality personnel to analyze defective parts.
• Investigate customer complaints and validate corrective actions to improve satisfaction.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution with suppliers for warranty issues.
• Ensure Quality Assurance Agreements (QAA) are in place with suppliers.
• Lead PPAP and other CQP activities as required.

What you can look forward to as Customer Quality Engineer

• Participates in the development of Process and Design FMEA's.
• Recommend design and manufacturing method changes to new products.
• Perform technical support and analyses to resolve product problems as they occur in the manufacturing process
• Work with customer warranty and quality personnel to analyze, track, and troubleshoot defective returned parts.
• Improve customer satisfaction by investigating customer complaints, proposing improvements, validating corrective actions
• Lead the resolution of repetitive or customer claims with root cause analysis and LLC at suppliers; (for warranty and merchandised goods)
• Ensure conclusion of Quality Assurance Agreements (QAA) for all assigned suppliers in cooperation with Commodity Buyers
• Lead all necessary tasks of the CQP including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

Your profile as Customer Quality Engineer

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in quality within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with SAP, particularly warehouse or manufacturing modules, preferred
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in core automotive quality standards and tools, including APQP, PPAP (AIAG), PPA (VDA 2), SPC, MSA, FMEA, and root cause analysis methods (8D, Pareto, Fault Tree Analysis)
• Knowledge of quality management systems and auditing standards, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 19011
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, product lifecycle management (PLM), Product Safety Act requirements, and process documentation (work instructions, control plans)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and use measurement/control equipment, along with strong MS Office skills
