Job summary

Schaeffler is seeking a detail-oriented engineer to monitor and report customer performance, drive corrective actions, and collaborate on process changes. The role involves FAI/PPAP tasks, audits, and continuous improvement projects across supplier and customer KPIs.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, excel in problem solving and communication, and be authorized to work in the US. Knowledge of AIAG tools and SAP is preferred, with occasional travel to support customers.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report customer performance; ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with customers on process approvals and changes.
  • Perform FAI/PPAP activities and DQR responsibilities.
  • Maintain customer visit and audit schedules.
  • Support audits, standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and improve supplier and customer KPIs.
  • Lead root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of nonconformances.
  • Resolve technical issues to maintain supply continuity.
  • Support long-term customer relationships and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Travel as needed to support customers and responsibilities.
  • Support achievement of local and global KPIs.
  • Communicate company policies, procedures, and mission.
  • Comply with export control, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Promote Lean principles within the team.

Your Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a technical discipline, or an equivalent qualification with demonstrated competency
  • Strong ability to prioritize effectively, work independently, and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Results-oriented with a strong customer service mindset
  • Knowledge of AIAG tools and related industry standards, including PPAP, APQP, QSA, MSA, SPC, and FMEA
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Preferred:

  • Background in a manufacturing or similar environment
  • Proven success working in both functional and cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Knowledge of AS9100 is considered an asset
