Job summary

Aegis Worldwide seeks a Customer Quality Engineer for an automotive supplier client. You will be the key contact for customer quality concerns and lead investigations to drive containment, root cause resolution, and permanent corrective actions.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to meet customer requirements. You will support APQP/PPAP, review control plans and PFMEAs, and communicate progress to customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality engineering within automotive manufacturing, preferably in a customer-facing role.
• Strong working knowledge of 8D problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 and automotive quality tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer quality requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor and collaborating across departments.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred; relevant experience will also be considered.
• $85,000–$100,000 base salary, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for customer quality concerns, complaints, and corrective action requests.
• Lead investigations into customer issues using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Coordinate containment activities and verify the effectiveness of permanent corrective actions.
• Partner with production and engineering teams to reduce defects, improve processes, and prevent recurring quality issues.
• Monitor customer scorecards and quality performance metrics; drive action plans to address gaps.
• Support customer audits, quality reviews, and documentation requests.
• Assist with APQP and PPAP activities for new products and engineering changes.
• Support updates to control plans, PFMEAs, work instructions, and other quality documentation.
• Communicate investigation findings, corrective action progress, and resolution timelines to customers and internal stakeholders.
