Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an intern to join our Mass Market Energy Efficiency team. This role focuses on insights and research to support energy efficiency programs, helping customers understand and manage their energy usage while upgrading homes to be more efficient.

Typical duties include evaluating program surveys with our customer insights team, reviewing customer inquiries for feedback, benchmarking industry research, and updating cross‑functional materials based on findings.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher.
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Psychology, Environmental Studies, Business Analytics, Sociology, or related studies.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with project managers and customer care agents to update customer support materials based on research on insights.

The Mass Market Energy Efficiency team is looking for an intern to join our team. This role will be focused on insights and research to support our energy efficiency programs, which help customers understand/manage their energy usage and upgrade their homes to be more efficient.

Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Work with our customer insights team to evaluate our program surveys
• Evaluate customer inquiry inboxes to derive insights and feedback
• Industry benchmarking, evaluating industry research, attending and reporting on webinars
• Work cross-functionally with project managers and customer care agents to update customer support materials based on research on insights
• Administrative duties as assigned - accruals, SF uploads, prescriptive rebate support

This position is for a May 24, 2027 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship's initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy's business needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current student, Junior or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Psychology, Environmental Studies, Business Analytics, Sociology, or related studies

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one prior internship or job experience

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.20 to $24.50 per hour
