Job summary

Somerset Regal Bank is hiring for a Teller to deliver friendly in-person and phone banking service at our Bound Brook, NJ location. The role includes handling deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and account servicing while maintaining cash drawers.

Candidates should be proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office, demonstrate strong organization, and maintain accuracy in cash handling and transactions. Evening and travel requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Must have cash handling experience.
• Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
• Knowledge of US currency denominations.
• Proficient with a PC using email, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and/or over the telephone.
• Process banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check item redemption, account holds, loan payments, and safe deposit rental payments.
• Maintain assigned cash drawer within established balance limits.
• Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer daily and prepare personal proof sheet.
• Actively educate and promote awareness of Bank products and services to potential and existing customers to establish or expand relationships.
• Assist customers and Management with use and maintenance of coin counting machine.
• Assist in the procedures necessary to close the branch facility daily.
• Responsible for daily upkeep of ATM and outdoor area as needed.
• Responsible for establishing accounts for new and existing customers when necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of position related procedures and compliance; comply with Bank policies.
• Perform cross-training in other Departments or Bank functions as assigned.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
• May travel to Bank or other locations for job related functions.
