Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the primary contact for customers, assist with plan-o-grams, stock merchandise and maintain clean, inviting sales floors. You will greet customers, operate the cash register, and process purchases while supporting teamwork and store profitability.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking and facing shelves, setting up displays, assisting with ordering merchandise, and following company policies.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in stock room or on the sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner; total purchases and bag merchandise.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
• Clean front end of store and set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
