Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the point of contact for customers, help set and maintain plan-o-grams, and stock merchandise. Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking and rotating merchandise, building displays, assisting customers, and working in a fast-paced team setting.

You will operate the cash register, handle payments, assist with ordering via handheld scanners, clean the store, greet customers, and protect company assets.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move directly to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag purchases; collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
