Job summary

MFA Petroleum Company seeks energetic Break Time Sales Associates to assist customers, process transactions, and perform essential store duties. The role involves fast-paced customer service, merchandising, and using POS technology to ensure accurate sales and a clean, well-stocked store.

Responsibilities include training new team members, maintaining food safety standards, and collaborating with management to meet regulatory requirements while delivering a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Friendly, customer-service oriented person who enjoys a fast-paced work environment.
• Flexible availability to work, including weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports, and account for numbers of products.
• Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
• Ability and willingness to attend adequate food safety training and obtain a Food Handler’s Card or equivalent certifications.
• Physical ability to move and position products in the cooler/freezer under low temperatures for extended periods.
• Ability to stand for up to nine hours per shift.
• Ability to communicate in English effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers; provide fast, friendly service and conduct accurate transactions.
• Perform merchandising and sales tasks, pricing, promotions, stocking and cleanliness of merchandise and displays.
• Maintain timely and professional communication with customers, vendors, coworkers, and management.
• Work as a team to meet regulatory requirements and operate store processes smoothly.
• Use POS systems and handheld devices; perform math for change and shift reporting.
• Help train new employees on policies and procedures; assist with loss control related to cash handling and sales.
• Follow food safety guidelines in food preparation and monitor temperatures, cleanliness, and proper presentation of items.
• Maintain a clean store environment and proper product display and storage.
• Comply with company policies and perform other duties as assigned.
