Job summary

MFA Oil Company invites applications for Break Time Sales Associates. Break Time stores depend on friendly service, accurate transactions, and diligent merchandising to keep customers satisfied and the store well stocked.

As a Break Time Sales Associate, you will greet customers, operate the POS, assist with food preparation, and help train new staff while maintaining safety and cleanliness across the store floor.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Friendly, customer-service oriented person who enjoys a fast-paced work environment.
• Flexible availability to work, including weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports, and account for numbers of products during vendor check in.
• Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
• Ability and willingness to attend adequate food safety training and obtain a Food Handler’s Card or equivalent certifications.
• Physical ability to move and position products in the cooler with temperatures as low as 30 degrees for up to one hour, and to move and position products in the freezer with temperatures as low as 0 degrees.
• Physical ability to both move and position yourself to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to remain in a standing position for up to nine hours per shift.
• Ability to visually observe and inspect items and work environment for regular job responsibilities and safety concerns.
• Ability and willingness to occasionally ascend and descend ladders to handle inventory or products.
• Ability to perform assigned tasks with accuracy and minimal supervision.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Ability to meet Company requirements, including successful pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Greet customers consistently and provide fast, friendly service and accurate transactions.
• Merchandise and stock merchandise, price items, support promotions, and keep shelves clean and fronted.
• Maintain timely and professional communication with customers, vendors, other employees, and management.
• Work as a team to serve customers while following regulations governing store operations.
• Utilize POS systems, computers, and hand-held devices and perform change calculations and shift reports.
• Assist training of new employees on company policies and procedures.
• Follow food preparation guidelines and ensure proper temperatures, cleanliness, rotation, and pricing.
