Job summary

The City of Frisco's Library Department seeks a Library Assistant to support customer service, materials maintenance, and program support across Adult, Material, or Youth Services.

Under supervision, you will assist patrons, help locate resources, prepare displays, enter data in databases, and help recruit/train volunteers; occasional travel to meetings may be required. Strong English skills required; Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and one year of library experience, or equivalent.
• Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background, and MVR check.
• Must possess valid State of Texas Driver’s License.
• Experience with customer service and assisting library patrons.

Responsibilities

• Provides high level of customer service to the public and staff.
• Prepares library displays.
• Assists customers with finding materials and using resources.
• Enters information, maintains, updates, researches, and corrects errors in databases.
• Assist with recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers.
• Responds to requests for reference information from library customers.
• Recommends books and media to customers.
