Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a vigilant Cashier/Checker to greet and assist customers, process transactions efficiently, and uphold store policies on cash handling and restricted items. You will support vibrant customer experiences and maintain a safe, clean environment across the store.

Responsibilities include operating the POS system, handling diverse payment methods, and staying informed about ads and promotions.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to do basic math operations (counting, addition, subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers in a visible, friendly manner
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane
• Handle tenders (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons) per policy
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and loss prevention policies
• Follow rules for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow postage/gift card/coupon procedures
• Stay current with ads and promotions and adhere to food safety regulations
• Maintain a safe environment and report unsafe conditions to management
• Provide information about products and assist customers across departments
• Comply with all laws and company guidelines and work well under pressure
