Job summary

ShopRite of Linden in New Jersey is seeking a friendly cashier to deliver accurate, efficient checkout service and a positive customer experience. You will proficiently scan items, collect payment, provide correct change, and bag groceries while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

The ideal candidate can read and speak English, perform basic math, stand for long shifts, and lift up to 50 lbs. You will work with the front-end team to ensure a clean, organized store and smooth transactions.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for a full shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried, and/or processed products without allergies.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly way.
• Ability to cooperate with others.
• Ability to work all assigned shifts and follow attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe front-end area.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces and equipment.
• Accurately handle cash, payments, and provide correct change.
• Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Promote current promotions to customers.
• Bag customer orders safely and efficiently.
• Stand at register for full shifts and adhere to safety policies.
