Job summary

Kroger, a nationwide grocer, is seeking a cashier/checker to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will greet customers, process transactions, and follow company policies on cash handling, loyalty offers, and restricted items.

You will support pricing accuracy, stay updated on current ads, and reinforce food safety guidelines while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, etc.).
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with product questions.
