Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Security Guard in Manhattan to provide professional security and life safety services for people and property. The role focuses on customer service, vigilance, and adherence to site policies.

Open availability with competitive hourly pay at USD 20.00/hr plus benefits. Successful candidates hold the required licenses and possess reliable communication and transportation.

Qualifications

• State or municipal security officer licenses required.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Must obtain security guard license if not already licensed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor, aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned.
• Monitor the environment, with the ability to detect suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Be familiar with incoming/outgoing traffic and know customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests in a professional manner.
• Answer all phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within the position limits.
• Perform patrols of designated areas on foot or by vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper removals.
• Follow emergency action planning and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems; prepare incident reports as directed.
