Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a Sales Associate to help customers, ring up purchases, stock shelves, and keep the store clean and organized. You will greet customers, operate the cash register, handle merchandise, and assist with displays while supporting store profitability and asset protection.

Strong teamwork and ability to follow procedures are important. High school diploma preferred; retail experience is a plus in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Follow company merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
