Job summary

Cosentino’s Price Chopper is seeking a reliable part-time Cashier in Saint Joseph, MO to process transactions, handle cash, and deliver friendly customer service at the front end of the store. The role requires strong communication, multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and maintaining a clean checkout area.

The position reports to the Front-End Manager and includes responsibilities such as processing payments, assisting customers, and supporting store operations.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Working knowledge of cash register operation.
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain a liquor license and or food handlers permit as required by the county within 14 days.
• Process customer transactions using the cash register and POS system.
• Handle cash, make change, and balance the drawer daily.
• Accept payments by cash, check, gift cards, cards, and coupons.
• Follow procedures for government assistance transactions (SNAP/WIC).
• Provide friendly customer service, greet customers and resolve issues.
• Identify products by PLU/number, bag merchandise, and promote add-ons.
• Maintain a clean checkout area and stock shelves as needed.
• Train new cashiers when directed and support store management.
