Job summary

The Children’s Place in New York, NY is hiring a Sales Associate to support the Store Leadership Team, deliver excellent customer service with strong product knowledge, and uphold merchandising and cleanliness standards.

You will greet customers, communicate promotions, manage stock, operate the cash wrap, and follow Loss Prevention procedures while maintaining a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of customer activity and respond with urgency, prioritizing assisting customers over other tasks.
• Greet and acknowledge customers while providing the appropriate level of service.
• Explain value and quality of merchandise and communicate current promotions.
• Address customer concerns with sound judgment and resolve issues.
• Demonstrate selling skills to positively impact store conversion.
• Provide fast, friendly, and accurate service at the cash wrap and explain benefits of the PLACE Card.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure sizes/styles are represented.
• Follow company standards of merchandise presentation, signage, and display.
• Keep a neat, clean, and organized stockroom while maintaining a customer-ready environment and safety.
• Perform daily housekeeping to company standard.
• Protect company assets by following Loss Prevention procedures.
• Inform Store Leadership of maintenance needs to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Contribute to achievement of store goals with focused, well-managed efforts.
• Show flexibility by processing stock as needed.
