Job summary

The Kroger Company of Michigan is seeking a diligent deli/bakery associate to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a clean, safe environment. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding high quality standards and our Customer 1st strategy.

You will answer questions, slice meats and cheeses, prepare deli/bakery items, offer samples, and ensure accurate labeling and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of deli/bakery items and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Prepare deli/bakery/bistro items per customer requests using appropriate equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of deli/bakery/bistro specials and fresh products.
• Ensure correct portion sizes and reduce shrink by properly preparing and packaging items.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and maintain product quality.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
