Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker for our Lemon Grove store to greet customers, engage with them, and help create an outstanding shopping experience.

You will process transactions quickly and accurately at the check lane while maintaining a safe, clean store environment. You will handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP/EBT, WIC, coupons, rain checks, and loyalty offers according to company policy; follow loss-prevention guidelines; stay current with ads; ensure food safety; and

Qualifications

• Minimum Position Qualifications: Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Desired Previous Job Experience: Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Inform pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and adhere to food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Provide product information to create a welcoming environment.
