Responsibilities

• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Greet customers entering the store.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Assist customers with information and resolve complaints.
• Answer questions and provide information on procedures or policies.
• Maintain clean checkout areas and perform general cleaning duties.
• Count money in cash drawers at shift start to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain non-monetary reports and records.
• Offer carry-out service after transactions.
• Ensure at least one checkout is always attended.
• Calculate costs of goods and services.
• Weigh items sold by weight to determine prices.
• Stock shelves, reshelve items, and mark prices.
• Ask for information or assistance using paging systems.
• Answer incoming phone calls.
