Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to use common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Responds knowledgeably to customer and employee questions and guides them through projects.
• Communicates information about stock, special orders, features, and warranty information related to Lowe's programs.
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Operates a cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds per guidelines.
• Manages monetary change and ensures cash drawer accuracy.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers.
• Prepares register area, checks scanners, and stocks supplies.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders and signs loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and price matches competitor offers.
• Records store item usage on the store use lists.
• Performs daily reconciliation and cash-count duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists with alarms.
• Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates to management/Asset Protection.
• Ensures housekeeping and safety standards are followed.
• Maintains a safe work environment and conducts daily safety reviews.
• Follows safety procedures for use of equipment and tools.
• Operates store equipment as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
