Kroger in Westerville, OH is hiring for a part-time Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer experiences at the checkout. You'll greet customers, help them find products and answer questions while maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.

You will process transactions using the POS system, handle various tenders, follow store policies, and participate in safety and loss-prevention procedures. This role emphasizes honesty, integrity, and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the checkout area
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently
• Operate POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and other tenders per policy
• Follow cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines
• Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
• Provide product knowledge to customers and create a welcoming environment
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
• Manage conflicts calmly and professionally
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed
