Job summary

Theisen's, Inc. is seeking a friendly Part-Time Cashier to greet customers, operate the cash register, and assist with general store upkeep. This role supports the store team and requires reliable attendance, basic math, and a willingness to help customers.

Key duties include handling transactions, answering questions, stocking shelves, processing returns, and assisting with special orders. Nights and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–12 months cashier or retail experience preferred.
• Ability to answer phones, perform ten-key and typing, and operate a cash register.
• Strong verbal communication and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly manner and invite into cashier lane
• Perform cash register functions proficiently
• Direct customers to merchandise location or call for help as needed
• Answer customers’ in-person or telephone questions within established guidelines
• Suggest add-on merchandise
• Handle returns/exchanges and process defective slips
• Process and follow up on customer special orders
• Stock shelves and assist with stocking, pricing, and tagging merchandise
• Keep checkout area neat and presentable
• Assist with store cleaning and maintain a friendly atmosphere
