Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Ogden, Utah to help maintain a clean, customer-focused store. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise employees, oversee merchandise presentation, deposits, and store operations.

You will lead customer service, schedule staff, train new hires, manage inventory, and ensure security and cash control, while supporting profitability and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year of retail experience and 6 months supervisory preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, and deposits.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise presentation per policy.
• Maintain cashier accountability, security practices and cash control; handle refunds.
• Support store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
