Job summary

SignalFire is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, understand their workflows, and design production-ready solutions using core platforms and APIs.

The role emphasizes building integrations, debugging complex deployments, and guiding customers from deployment to adoption while collaborating with product and engineering teams to feed back improvements. Travel may be required in some engagements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software/solutions engineering or similar customer-facing role.
• Strong coding skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, or C++.
• Experience building APIs, data pipelines, or production applications.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Strong debugging, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple customer deployments or technical workstreams simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel periodically, depending on the company and customer environment.
• Passion for solving complex customer problems through software and technical implementation.
• Interest in the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with customers to understand workflows, technical environments, and business requirements
• Design, build, and deploy production-ready solutions using core platforms or APIs
• Develop custom integrations, applications, and technical workflows tailored to customer needs
• Troubleshoot implementation, infrastructure, data, and product issues
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to turn customer feedback into platform improvements
• Guide customers through technical architecture, deployment, testing, and adoption
• Create reusable tools, documentation, and implementation frameworks
• Support pilots and proofs of concept and help customers move into production
• Identify recurring customer needs to inform product strategy and roadmap priorities
• SignalFire reviews applications on an ongoing basis and may connect matched candidates with portfolio startups
• Profiles remain on file for future Forward Deployed Engineer roles
