Job summary

Agile Robots is seeking a hands-on Engineer to serve as the technical reference for the US sales organization, collaborating with sales teams and account managers. You will be the front-facing expert on the Franka platform, contribute to public open-source repositories, and work across hardware, software interfaces, and ecosystem components.

You will visit customers on-site and remotely, design proof-of-concept applications, and build simulation models to validate concepts before hardware

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years in applications engineering, solutions engineering, pre-sales, or robotics development
• Strong programming skills in C++
• Hands-on experience with ROS / ROS 2 and robot manipulators (collaborative robots a strong plus)
• Experience with 3D manufacturing/robotics simulation for layout, feasibility studies, virtual commissioning
• Proven ability to build demos or prototypes quickly and present to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with Git/GitHub and contributing to open-source codebases
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
• Ability to travel regularly to customer sites, hackathons, and trade shows across the US

Responsibilities

• Sales & account support: act as technical expert throughout the sales cycle
• Customer consulting: visit customers on-site and remotely to consult on technical solutions
• Proof of concepts: design, build, and demonstrate POCs
• Simulation-driven solution design: build and present simulation models to validate concepts
• Hackathons & events: plan and support hackathons, workshops, demos
• Software development & open source: publish and contribute code to open-source repositories (libfranka, franka_ros2)
• Feedback loop: channel customer requirements back to Product Management and R&D
• Enablement: create demos, documentation, tutorials, and training material
