Job summary

Cogent Infotech is seeking a Mid-Level Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work closely with customers and internal teams to build, deploy, and support technology solutions that address real-world business needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with the ability to understand customer requirements, develop integrations, troubleshoot issues, and take ownership of solutions from requirements discovery through deployment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of software/solutions engineering or related technical role.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with REST APIs and system integrations.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand business and technical requirements.
• Translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Build and deploy customer-facing applications, integrations, and workflows.
• Develop software and automation using Python.
• Build and integrate REST APIs and third-party services.
• Work with SQL and databases to manage data.
• Deploy and support solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Use Docker and containerized environments for development and deployment.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
• Troubleshoot application, integration, data, and deployment issues.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and customer teams.
• Support data engineering and system integration activities.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Take ownership of assigned customer solutions and ensure success.
