Job summary

Ayama is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to be the technical face of Ayama at our customers. The role is 100% hands-on and split between customer engagement and code; you will write Python and SQL daily, debug across unfamiliar systems, and tailor Ayama for each customer's operational reality.

This full-time hybrid role is based in the Bay Area, with travel to customer sites and occasional on-site visits; you must be eligible to work in the United States. There is no relocation package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong Python fluency and SQL expertise.
• Customer-facing deployments and incident response experience.
• Cloud experience (GCP preferred) and enterprise integrations.

Responsibilities

• Own deployments end-to-end: daily operations, training, configuration, incident triage.
• Configure Ayama for new customers: enterprise system integrations, data mappings, asset hierarchy, customer-specific workflows.
• Debug production issues across pipelines and write precise root-cause reports for engineering.
• Scope and execute pilot deployments for new customers.
• Translate field reality into structured product feedback for engineering.
• Build customer-specific scripts and small tools for custom needs.
