• Operates front-end scanning equipment and cash register; performs checkout procedures and bags merchandise.
• Maintains accuracy during transactions; ensures correct charges and funds are collected (cash, checks, electronic payments, coupons).
• Keeps cash drawer secure and reports any shortages or overages; follows tobacco and alcohol sale guidelines.
• Maintains knowledge of weekly ads and promotions to answer questions and assist customers.
• Ensures department sanitation per health and OSHA guidelines; assists in other departments as needed.
