Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a friendly and efficient Customer Service Clerk to greet customers and assist throughout the store. You will handle transactions, operate the POS, and apply policies for promotions, coupons, and restricted items.

The role requires strong communication, basic math skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Training will cover safety, customer engagement, and product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum: customer service experience.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders including SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to cash handling, loss prevention, and store policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; ensure food safety regulations are followed.
• Maintain safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Provide product knowledge and assist customers throughout the store.
