Job summary

The Colony Scheels is hiring a Customer Service Associate to greet customers, operate the register, and promote Scheels Visa while delivering a personalized shopping experience. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 1+ years of cashiering experience or training and is comfortable handling cash and basic math.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and 1+ years of cashiering experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
• Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
• End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
• Operate the register system, follow all cash handling policies, and be knowledgeable in store products and policies as they pertain to customer service
• Resolving problems that involve several variables in standardized processes
• Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer
• Maintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions
• Complete Customer Service projects and delegate to other cashiers when needed
• Assist in the training of new Customer Service Associates and Cashiers
• Assist with all other duties as assigned
• Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
