Job summary

Scheels in Minot, ND is seeking a friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier. You will greet customers, scan items, provide personalized service, promote the Scheels Visa card, and ensure accurate checkout.

A high school diploma or GED and 1+ years of cashiering experience are preferred. You'll handle cash and card transactions, balance the drawer, support training of new staff, and assist with promotions and store events.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and 1+ years of cashiering experience or training.
• Experience handling cash and performing basic math with accuracy.
• Familiarity with POS systems and retail software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and meeting the digital receipt program goals
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring proper rung and payment
• Treat merchandise with care and bag purchases efficiently
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and explain benefits
• End each transaction by saying thank you to every customer
• Operate the register system and follow cash handling policies; be knowledgeable about store products and policies
• Resolve problems involving multiple variables in standardized processes
• Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and balance the cash drawer
• Maintain awareness of in-store events and promotions
• Complete customer service projects and delegate to other cashiers when needed
• Assist in training of new Customer Service Associates and Cashiers
• Assist with all other duties as assigned
• Be able to work varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
