Job summary

Kroger is hiring a Store Associate in Saint Marys, OH to greet customers, assist with checkout, and maintain a safe, clean shopping environment that encourages return visits. You will operate the POS system, process cash, card, and coupons, follow loss prevention guidelines, comply with age-restricted item rules, and help customers find products with courtesy.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons) according to policy.
• Adhere to cash shortage/overage guidelines and work to control loss.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer questions about products.
• Adhere to laws and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
