Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets in Duarte, California, is seeking a Customer Experience Manager to elevate front-end service and ensure operational excellence across Cashiers, Courtesy Clerks, and Booth staff.

You will train, coach, and develop a service-focused team, partner with the Store Director on initiatives, manage scheduling, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and support peak-period coverage.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of supervisory or training experience in retail or supermarket front-end operations.
• Proven ability to coach, train, and inspire high-performing teams.
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of front-end operations, compliance, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to pass a criminal and credit check.
• Willingness to transfer to other store locations as needed.
• Fast-paced retail setting with direct customer interaction.
• Exposure to perishable products and changing conditions.
• Collaborative, team-oriented workplace.
• Must work flexible schedule: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor Front-End Leads and Booth Administrators to high-performing teams.
• Manage cashier scheduling, coverage, and operations for efficiency.
• Oversee cash handling accuracy, transaction compliance, and drawer balancing.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA, Health Department, ABC, WIC, SNAP, LEAD testing.
• Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and urgency.
• Conduct audits and review metrics to improve service and compliance.
• Deliver Front-End and Booth staff training programs.
• Collaborate with Store Director, HR, and leadership to drive initiatives.
• Perform cashier or front-end duties during peak periods.
• Complete reports and communications accurately and on time.
