Responsibilities

• Greets customers, answers questions and resolves concerns promptly in a polite, professional manner.
• Follows policies relating to checkout to increase customer satisfaction.
• Operates front end scanning equipment and cash register.
• Bags merchandise and assists customers at checkout.
• Ensures accurate charges and proper handling of payments including cash, checks, electronic payments and coupons.
• Maintains cash drawer security and prevents overages/shortages.
• Follows store guidelines for sale of tobacco and alcohol.
• Keeps knowledge of weekly ads and promotions to answer questions.
• Maintains department sanitation and adheres to health and OSHA requirements.
• Disposes of trash properly.
• Cooperates with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth operation of department and store.
• May assist in other departments.
